Job Requirements / Description

Responsible for maintenance of all building equipment and systems and performance of preventative and unscheduled maintenance, as directed. Responsible for inspection and troubleshooting of mechanical problems and building equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Operate building equipment and systems as directed by Chief and Assistant Engineer and/or Facility Manager.
  2. Make necessary repairs and adjustments to improve the operations of the HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems.
  3. Use best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system issues in a cost-effective manner. Ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion with minimal impact to the property or customers.
  4. Acknowledge and respond to all service requests timely. Requests include but are not limited to the following: Plumbing - faucet and toilet repairs; Electrical - lighting, switches and receptacles repairs and motor replacements; HVAC - respond to and troubleshoot hot and cold calls and calibrate thermostats; Door Hardware and locks - adjust door closure(s), tighten hinges and install hardware; Fire Life Safety Alarm System - system maintenance and repairs. Conduct building rounds and readings. Follow up with customers to ensure all service requests are completed to their satisfaction. Escalate any issues to Chief Engineer or Facility Manager. Foster a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
