Job Description Summary:

The Senior Product Engineer develops novel solutions to customer-driven problems including ruggedized miniature electro-mechanical systems, systems for harsh environments (e.g. high-g, high temperature, high vibration), dynamic mechanisms, and autonomous systems. The product engineering and manufacturing support team helps turn these cutting-edge designs into fielded hardware for our end customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs to create product concepts.
  • Gather materials or resources needed to design the product.
  • Test the product for usability and safety.
  • Oversee the manufacturing and production process to set standards.
  • Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction – contribute to requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.
  • Provide insight and suggest design or process modifications based on quantitative data or results.
  • Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.
  • Be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to balance multiple competing tasks and demands.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field.

Experience:

5-7 years experience in Product Engineering or related.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree with 7+ years of experience in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, materials science, or manufacturing engineering.
  • OR Master of Science degree with 5+ years of experience in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, materials science, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience programming automated die level assembly equipment (i.e. die placement, wirebonding, or encapsulation).
  • Ability to generate clear process control documents and work instructions.
  • Team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve program goals.
  • Exposure to statistical analysis software such as JMP or Minitab to create and execute design of experiments.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis techniques to establish root cause and prevent future failures.
  • Experience using MES systems for process flow tracking.

  • Current in-scope TOP SECRET security clearance is required.
