Software Engineer


Ship And Active Top Secret Clearance Is Required


CGI Federal is currently looking for a Software Engineer with active Top-Secret clearance to support a large project for a federal government client. The Software Engineer will have the opportunity to work in an agile environment, utilizing a variety of skills and languages in a fast-paced, cutting-edge setting where their input can enhance processes and team interactions. This position is based in Washington, DC or Huntsville, AL.


Your future duties and responsibilities

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate within scrum teams comprising Product Owners (PO), Scrum Masters (SM), other engineers, and testers.
  2. Understand requirements outlined in user stories.
  3. Take ownership of user stories and work independently.
  4. Conduct unit testing.
  5. Perform more complex testing on user stories coded by others when the team needs to collaborate at the end of a sprint.
  6. Deploy code into a pipeline.
  7. Engage with clients, requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Identify and address risks within the team.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role


  • Active Top-Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in software development, or related discipline.
  • Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Years of experience with Enterprise data, Data lake, Data pipeline, containerization.
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, Unstructured data, Event management, ETL.
  • 5 years of software engineering experience.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:


Proficiency in Python.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $67,800.00 - $150,200.00.
