What You’ll Do:
- Lead and mentor small teams (usually 2 to 5 engineers with diverse backgrounds) to fulfill projects for client needs and for internal needs.
- Remain hands-on with designing and implementing automation solutions while expanding your leadership skills.
- You will work directly with clients and participate start-to-finish on projects, thus enjoying a holistic sense of accomplishment from your work.
- In this role you’ll work with clients to identify requirements, develop specifications, implement, test, commission, and qualify innovative automation solutions.
- Solving problems, managing projects methodically, teaching and mentoring less experienced engineers, and creating partnerships internally and with clients will be important aspects of this role.
- Your creativity and applied knowledge will generate repeat business with existing clients and also lead you to partnerships with new clients.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls, along with 5+ years of Life Sciences industry experience , along with in-depth experience with: Rockwell /Allen Bradley; Ignition; SCADA and HMI.
- A track record of delivering innovative automation solutions and design standards to meet customer requirements, including control system architecture, component selection, schematic diagrams, system documentation, and controller programming for PLCs, Process Control Systems, Distributed Control Systems, and Remote Terminal Units.
- Additionally, you have programmed the process visualization using HMI and SCADA (required) , developed databases for historical system data, and commissioned solutions at client facilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for the Life Sciences industry is required, i.e., cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11 , etc.
- S88 Batch experience (required).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as structured text, Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, or other tools necessary to achieve successful results.
- Additional desirable skills include languages such as SQL, .NET, and VBA, and experience with wireless, wired, and fiber optic systems that use industrial automation protocols, such as Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and others.
- As a Project Manager, Team Lead, or Project Management Assistant, you have overseen or worked with team leaders or managers on daily operations and activities of projects up to $1M, while ensuring that projects stay within budget, are profitable, and are delivered on time.
- The ideal engineer will have a varied skill set and can work independently and with teams. Will act as technical lead on projects and at times as a Project Manager.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC, control panels, and associated NEC references desired. AutoCAD experience is desirable.
- A Bachelor of Science degree is required in a relevant discipline, for example: Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Automation, etc.
- Ability to travel up to 25%; most travel is local and seldom requires overnight stays.
