Summary:

Zapata Technology is seeking an experienced Software Developer for a hybrid role in Monterey, California.

Compensation: $130-164K annually depending upon experience.

Job Functions:

  • Design and develop modular ETL solutions that ingest and deliver data from various systems to analytics platforms using custom ASP.NET applications and Postgres stored procedures.
  • Develop scalable data pipelines for reporting and analytics using manual coding techniques rather than third-party ETL applications.
  • Develop custom scripts and applications to support data transformation and management needs.
  • Write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures to process and transform structured data.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data storage systems, particularly in Postgres or other relational databases.
  • Write unit tests using NUnit, XUnit, or MSTest.
  • Document data processes, manage compliance requirements, and conduct quality assurance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues to ensure system integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement custom data solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks, including HRPP/Privacy/HIPAA/SOP.
  • Work within Agile methodologies.

Skills/Experience Needed:

  • Proficiency in C# and ASP.NET (experience with .NET Core is a plus).
  • Experience with single-page applications and dynamic DOM modifications.
  • Familiarity with UI component libraries and a strong understanding of web verbs, JSON, XML protocols, style sheets, and other web techniques.
  • Proficient knowledge of MSSQL, Postgres, or other RDBMS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Postgres, particularly in writing complex stored procedures and query optimization.
  • Experience with code-first or schema-first ORMs, including Entity Framework.
  • Understanding of scaling applications using stateless techniques.
  • Experience integrating web analytics tools, particularly Google Analytics.
  • Optimize applications for hosting in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud environments.

Certifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ certification, demonstrating commitment to security and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills Include:

  • Proficiency in application development using SQL, preferably Oracle.
  • Experience working with real-time data and streaming applications.
  • Proficiency in basic commands and shell scripting.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Microsoft or Software Certification.

Education/Experience Includes:

  • 4+ years of Software Development experience.

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full time position.

Clearance:

This position requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
