JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Implement best in breed system monitoring solutions to ensure resources are properly notified of potential issues prior to their being a notable service impact.
2. Identify, remediate and mitigate any single points of failures discovered in the system design phase or after.
3. Design, plan, implement, maintain and troubleshoot servers and services to include Exchange, Print Spooler, Electronic Backup, Biometrics, Windows Server Environment, Virtual Servers, Virtual Desktops, remote connectivity services, Active Directory, Symitar core interconnects and server platform, remote email synchronization and other 3rd party application software.
4. Design, plan, implement, maintain and troubleshoot all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, appliances, telecommunications gateways, UPS systems and smart power supplies.
5. Perform security reviews, audits and vulnerability remediation.
6. Ensure the execution of and monitoring of an effective and timely enterprise wide patch management.
7. Ensure network and IP connectivity of all locations across the LAN/WAN, all workstations, all application servers and back-end office infrastructure.
8. Manage assigned IT projects as Lead Project Manager or participate as IT Project Lead for external projects using best practice project management methods.
9. Utilize IT helpdesk software to track work requests and provide timely updates regarding ongoing work requests.
10. Evaluate and remediate risks associated with phishing, vishing, and denial of service attacks.
11. Plan and lead disaster recovery and business continuity testing.
12. Ensure LAN/WAN, communications, and data center diagrams are created and maintained.
13. Create and maintain process flow diagrams.
14. Rotate with other team members for on-call duty.
15. Provide support and work after hours as needed. Rotate with other team members for on-call duty to support organization 24/7. Must be able to respond to alerts and notifications in a timely manner.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related academic program, graduate degree preferred.
2. Certifications in the area of Microsoft Server Administration and Systems Security certifications required. Cisco certification desired.
3. At least 6 years of IT experience to include network administration or network engineering.
4. At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Active Directory, Exchange, Print Servers, Microsoft server administration, server virtualization, router/switch configuration and administration and system security administration.
5. At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Firewall administration and desktop virtualization.
6. Internet, VoIP and network protocols experience.
7. Network cabling, wiring systems, design and installation experience.
8. Network traffic analyzers, packet sniffers and similar diagnostic tools experience.
9. Knowledge of LAN/WAN design.
10. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
11. Excellent time management and large project management skills, with working knowledge of project management methodologies, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
12. BGP routing and encryption experience desired.
13. Some travel may be required.
