As Software Engineer II , you will assume a pivotal position in advancing the development of LineVision’s energy grid enhancing technology. Join our closely-knit, multidisciplinary team and take ownership of full-stack software development to enhance the efficiency of our hardware team's efforts.


The successful Software Engineer II will demonstrate a strong passion and aptitude for both front-end and back-end systems, along with a deep understanding of IoT hardware integration. This individual is known for their creative problem-solving abilities, proactive approach, natural leadership, and unwavering commitment to delivering solutions that consistently meet high standards of excellence.


What will you do?


Core Responsibilities And Key Performance Objectives
  1. Proactively identify, scope, schedule and execute full-stack software development projects to support the efforts of our engineering team.
  2. Support hardware configuration, validation, power budget calculation, and API improvements through frontend and backend tool development.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on development projects, deepening understanding of hardware integration.
  4. Create product documentation, including manuals, procedures, and datasheets.
  5. Within Three Months:
    1. Knowledge download. Understand our business, architecture, processes and life at LineVision.
    2. Provide early contributions to the codebase with hands on keyboard and contributing to manageable tasks.
    3. Squad up! Build relationships in your squad, and develop your internal cross-disciplinary network.
  6. Within Six Months:
    1. Understand the workings and needs of a hardware team, and how they can accelerate with your support and tools.
    2. Gain confidence building new systems where nothing existed before.
    3. Increase ownership of tasks, writing epics and stories based on the work you're assigned.
  7. Within a Year and Beyond:
    1. Take ownership: have an idea, review with architect, then run with it.
    2. Take initiative: to act on and scope additional efforts.
    3. Bring your ideas to the team for discussion, participate at a higher design level.

What do you need to succeed in this role?


  1. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
  3. Familiarity with SQL and AWS services (Lambda and serverless computing a plus).
  4. Knowledge of Object-Oriented and Functional Programming Paradigms.
  5. Experience with algorithms, data structures, and large volumes of time-series data.
  6. Experience with hardware-software integration and IoT, firmware and lower level languages is a plus.
  7. Passion for improving the efficiency and reliability of the grid.
