RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Florida Team. As a Geotechnical Project Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for a variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations and develop design computations; and prepare geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Essential Function
- Assist in developing the geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
- Perform site reconnaissance and preliminary field work including hand auger borings
- Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software,
- Preparation of SHWT Reports
- Preparation of bridge, roadway soil survey and retaining wall reports and foundation recommendations,
- Foundation recommendations for miscellaneous structures (i.e. signs, signals, box culverts),
- Innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering
- Passion for client service and engineering
- BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
- 7 to 10+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, FDOT experience
- Professional Engineer License is required
- Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Deep, FB-Pier, Slide2, Settle3, Slope/W and GRLWEAP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microstation/Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- MS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering
