We have an outstanding career opportunity for aDesign Engineerto join a leading Company located in theLancaster, NYsurrounding area.Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000The primary purpose of this position is to support product development activities to ensure that the desired design performance is achieved meeting the applicable customer, regulatory, and company policies. The Design Engineer will ensure a successful transfer of the newly developed product to production while supporting design concept phases through launch. This is a team-oriented effort within the department and other parts of the organization for success.Responsibilities :Creates and revises designs (Interface, Detail, Assembly), with Designer; computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, and locations of featuresMakes final decisions on drawings, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation and interaction of one part to another, and relation of various parts of the whole system or projectUtilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, plating, and other physical sciences to complete system designExecute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, and proceduresUtilize prior mechanical design experience and apply on-the-job training to meet product deliverables within schedule & budget constraints and to solve tasks through technical skills and analytic thinkingCommunicate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Engineers, on changes, concerns, and collaboration needs for the productGenerate development, qualification plans (verification and validation), and compliance methods based on customer and regulatory specificationsPrepare and present technical data to internal and external customersShare engineering information and promote open dialogueAssure proper documentation of technical data generated and the communication of results for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresBasic Hiring Criteria :Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school - Mechanical, Aerospace EngineeringMinimum 5-7 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in design engineeringCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorshipAll applicants must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder)Desired Qualifications :MS in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringExperience in gaseous products and safety equipmentUnderstanding of and experience with engineering testing methodsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExperience and proficiency with technical writing; strong communication skillsAble to perform simulation using Solid Works or Matlab Simulink and validate with performance testingExperience with RTCA DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810G environmental test standardsBenefits offered to vary by the contract.
