System One has an immediate need for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This long-term contract position will be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants.
The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.
Responsibilities: Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures/systems/components.
Prepare scoping documents to determine extent of modifications required.
Prepare cost estimates for engineering/design activities.
Prepare design documents including drawings, specifications and calculations.
Lead design review meetings and address customer comments on design documents/deliverables
Minimum Qualifications: Must be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (EC’s), with knowledge of Standard Design Process.
BS degree from an accredited university – mechanical engineering preferred.
Minimum 8 years experience in design of modifications in commercial nuclear plants.
Must be able to demonstrate adaptability; must be proficient in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment.
PE registration and experience supporting Entergy Nuclear are preferred.
Position can be hybrid remote or remote from office, must be able to travel to plant sites when needed.
Must be able to obtain unescorted access at an operating nuclear plant.
Position requires excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers.
