Job Description
Teledyne Imaging Sensors is an integral member of the Digital Imaging Segment of Teledyne Technologies. Imaging Sensors provides advanced imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD, NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers. In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team! The Senior Quality Engineer ensures the quality, reliability and validity of Teledyne's processes, procedures and Quality Management systems for Teledyne's highly complex Quality Assurance department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Program Quality Engineering Lead
  • Promotes program mission success by reducing technical and mission risks
  • Ability to apply an engineered process over the life-cycle of a program to identify and mitigate design, production, test, and field support deficiencies that could impact overall mission success
  • Create, review, and update Aerospace & Space Program quality processes, work instructions, checklist, plans, and templates to ensure program success
  • Responsible for Quality System updates and maintenance as it relates directly to Defense, Aerospace, and Space Programs
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns
  • Assist Quality & Mission Assurance Director in establishing, implementing and maintaining the ISO 9001 / AS9100 certified quality management system
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as Six Sigma, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
  • Develop training material to build quality awareness within department
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure data transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with quality approved data
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and program specific requirements
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints
  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings both internal and program level
  • Ability to identity, create, and closeout Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and Preventative Action Reports (PARs) to address non-conformities and opportunities for improvement
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing quality functions
  • Continuously improve QA receiving inspection process and procedures
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions
  • Manage suppliers' performance and conduct supplier quality audits
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma Principles
  • Preparation of Quality Reports and End Item Data Package (EIDP)
  • Stay current and able to address GIDEP Alerts
  • Guide and mentor less experienced Quality Engineers working on Aerospace & Space Programs
  • Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for tracking and reporting of data
Qualifications & Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
  • Quality Engineering experience with Defenses, Aerospace, and Space Programs.
  • Active Security Clearance or ability to get a clearance.
  • Experience using quality inspection tools and equipment.
  • ISO 9001 and AS9100 QMS experience. (Lead Auditor Certification preferred)
  • CMMI or related experience desired
  • Ability to travel to Supplier's facility to conduct Quality Audits and Source Inspections.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be well organized and be able to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, requirements, and SOWs.
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management.
  • Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, ERP/MRP, and QMS experience.
  • DelTek CostPoint experience desired.
  • Lotus Notes QSI and/or TIPQA Quality Management Software experience desired
  • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
Education and/or Experience
  • At minimum, completion of a high school degree or vocational training is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of directly related Quality Engineering experience and/or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a related technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working on Defense, Aerospace, and/or Space Programs as Quality Engineer or Quality Manager.
  • ASQ ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality lead auditor training and certificate is desired.
  • ASQ training and certification as Certified Quality Engineer, and/or Certified Reliability Engineer, and/or Manager of Quality is desired.

Salary Range:
$93,500.00-$125,950.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
