Engineering Manager, Graphics Profiling Tools

NVIDIA is looking to hire a deeply technical, creative and hands-on engineering manager to help pioneer the next generation of GPU Profiling Tools. As a key leader of the team that drives development of graphics profiling tools, you will empower developers worldwide to harness the full power of NVIDIA GPUs. We are looking for someone that is passionate about making the best possible experience for developers seeking to create fast and stable video games and professional 3D applications.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Create and improve existing profiling tools for NVIDIA GPUs, enabling developers to quickly identify and resolve performance issues.
  2. Collaborate closely with internal and external partners, including teams within NVIDIA such as the Compiler, Driver, and GPU Architecture teams.
  3. Drive technology discussions and provide feedback on system architecture.
  4. Accurately estimate and prioritize tasks in order to create realistic delivery schedules.
  5. Write fast, effective, maintainable, reliable and well-documented object-oriented code.
  6. Mentor and guide engineers, providing feedback on performance and career development.
  7. Document requirements and designs, and review documents with key partners.
  8. Meet with the QA Department to develop test plans for new features.

What we need to see:

  1. Real passion for 3D graphics and low-level programming with 8+ overall years of relevant industry experience.
  2. Excellent C/C++ programming skills.
  3. 4+ years of relevant experience as a technical lead or manager, with a proven ability to effectively lead a team of engineers in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  4. Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related engineering fields or equivalent experience.
  5. Ability to provide accurate estimates to ensure delivery of software on time.
  6. Knowledge of 3D Graphics Algorithms and GPU Architectures, with proficiency in at least one 3D Graphics API such as Direct3D, OpenGL, or Vulkan.
  7. Deep understanding of computer architecture concepts such as virtual memory, caches, registers, threads, and heterogeneous computing.
  8. Experience writing, debugging and optimizing HLSL/GLSL shader code for gaming, device drivers, real-time systems or low level libraries.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  1. Experience developing drivers for GPUs.
  2. Expertise in GPU low-level performance tuning/optimization, including profiling and debugging.
  3. Background in the game industry or in a field that requires high-performance graphics.
  4. Be able to demonstrate initiative and determination to get things done.

The base salary range is 220,000 USD - 419,750 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
