Position Summary
TGNR is in search of a Sr. Reserves Engineer to provide technical expertise within Engineering that is critical to the success of the Company. This position will work at the Company-wide level with direct interactions with multiple teams including Geology, Land, Operations, Finance, and Upper Management. To be successful in this position, we are looking for a self-starter who wants to work as a member of a busy team, is interested in learning new skills, and is flexible and adaptable as priorities change. The Reservoir Engineer will work in TGNR's Houston office and have the option to work remotely two (2) days a week. The position will focus on corporate planning, A&D, and Reserves.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the bi-annual reserves process in compiling and submitting reserve evaluations and summaries to TGNR's appointed third party engineering firm for audit and fully-engineered reports.
• Lead the Reserves process in preparing the bi-annual reserve reconciliation, with accompanying detail and support, for Sr. management and investors.
• Lead economic and asset development evaluations for potential acquisitions.
• Provide necessary due-diligence for Reservoir Engineering for potential acquisitions
• Stay current on Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules and guidelines for calculating and reporting oil and gas reserves.
• Stay current on Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS).
• Mentor Junior Engineers and Engineering Technician's in Reserves evaluation.
• Provide technical expertise around critical technology that relates to Reserves preparation and tracking.
• Develop solutions and propose changes to Company practices and standards.
• Lead the internal Reserves review and third-party audit process.
• Manage / review standardized economic cases, spreadsheets, documents and maps to be used by the larger Reservoir and Planning teams to summarize and apply third-party auditor presentation materials.
• Ensure all components are in compliance with SEC/PRMS standards.
• Build and maintain positive relationships and interdependencies with staff and contractors through effective communication, with adherence to Company values.
• Benchmark progress in projects tied to project management utilization.
• Communicate with external community and represent the Company to the industry.
• Present technical information within the Company and to third parties.
• Lead junior staff in technical training for the required skill sets and competency levels to meet business goals.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
• Experience in reservoir engineering, especially technical principles for developing long-term oil and gas reservoir depletion plans, economics evaluations and key performance measures and benchmarking in E&P industry.
• Subject-Matter expert in the preparation of hydrocarbon reserves estimates and reserves audit and sensitivity analyses
• Hands-On experience in asset inventory/economic evaluation, due-diligence processes, and Data Room management for A&D
• Expert level proficiency in ARIES
• Spotfire and/or Power BI proficiency required.
• Enersight and SQL experience preferred.
• A minimum of 6+ years of Reservoir Engineering experience with a demonstrated focus on leading reserves, corporate planning, and acquisition analysis'
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
