In this role, you'll be the backbone of our engineering efforts, providing essential controls engineering support across the plant. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting equipment, enhancing processes for safety and efficiency, and driving forward continuous improvement initiatives. This position is not just about maintaining the status quo; it's about innovating, problem-solving, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in automation controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer comprehensive controls engineering support throughout the plant.
- Assist the maintenance department in troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Continuously review and enhance procedures for safety, quality, and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and oversee data functions in Control Logix processors.
- Maintain and archive PLC documentation and programs.
- Manage and support I/O devices connected to PLCs.
- Apply electronic and instrumentation knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
- Proactively address abnormalities to identify and rectify root causes.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities.
- Lead projects from conception through to production.
- Maintain and improve existing automated equipment.
- Establish standards in programming and hardware, seeking innovative improvements.
- Analyze, review, and optimize developed solutions for accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Computer Engineering.
- Proven experience in controls programming.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley controls is essential.
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of Siemens and Rockwell controls is advantageous.
