Job Description: Primary duties for the Turbomachinery Engineer would include: Design and analysis, along with insight and oversight of work performed by others Apply analyses to pre-test predictions of component performance and to assessing ground test/flight data Utilize analysis and test/flight data to characterize the component environments and establish if the turbomachinery meets established design requirements and design goals. Support team on all steps of the turbomachinery design, development, integration, analysis, test, and problem identification/resolution process Attend training classes to expand and/or sharpen turbomachinery skills Develop and implement new design concepts and design improvements Support bearing lab testing and data analysis. Support design and construct of bearing test labs. Collaborate with other engineers to resolve technical issues Create scripts for automated testing Attend technical interchanges, project planning, design review and other appropriate meetings to maintain a current knowledge base of design, requirements, issues, action items, and resolution activities. Identify issues, pursue resolutions, and provide supporting analyses. Complete assigned action items. Review requirements and implement risk management processes. Document and deliver results with recommendations. Perform other duties related to liquid rocket engine analyses and systems engineering as assigned.Job Requirements: A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or related engineering field is required. A degree from an ABET accredited university is preferred. A BS with minimum of 5 years of experience, or MS with a minimum of 3 years of experience is required. Strong interest in turbines/pumps with emphasis on turbines Theoretical background in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer Knowledge of turbomachinery principals desired. Attention to details and strong organization skills Familiarity with and experience in systems engineering processes and applications is desired. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Power-Point, Excel, and Word is required. Basic programming skills desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be comfortable working across organizational boundaries to identify and resolve engine/vehicle integration issues.
