Senior Data Modeler - Data Engineer

Senior Data Modeler / Sr Data Engineer - (Contract - Hybrid, Chicago, IL or Tempe, AZ)

We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler with exceptional data modeling and SQL skills for a contract position, requiring 3 days per week on-site in either Chicago, IL, or Tempe, AZ.

MUST have:

1. PowerBI
2. SQL
3. End to End experience - design, analysis, knowing how the data models will affect applications and all systems involved and document
4. Documentation, analysis, delivery communication

Senior Data Modeler / Sr Data Engineer - Key Responsibilities:

• Build and adapt complex data models supporting application development frameworks, ensuring they are data-driven and compatible with existing code.
• Collaborate with teams to support application development, including dashboard integration and SQL query development.
• Develop and update PowerBI templates and assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Work with GIT for version control and manage metadata using tools like Erwin or ER Studio.

Senior Data Modeler / Sr Data Engineer - Requirements:

• 8-12 years of overall development experience.
• 3+ years of advanced PowerBI development.
• 10+ years of SQL experience with complex queries and data modeling.
• Expertise with ETL, data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms.
• Strong skills in metadata management, data modeling, and SQL query writing.

Nice to Haves:

• Object-Oriented Framework development.
• Experience with Azure (ADF, ADLS, Synapse) and data governance tools like Collibra.

Location:

• Must be local to either Chicago, IL, or Tempe, AZ.
