Located in Durango, CO, (Headquarters) and Mount Pleasant, PA (Additive Manufacturing Center) Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.
Agile is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our software engineering team to develop Agile's internal software tools, which support all aspects of Agile's operations from engine design and testing to additive manufacturing, to business efficiency tools. The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with the team to develop new tools used by Agile's engineers and technicians in developing the next generation of propulsion systems for satellites, lunar landers, and more.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and develop full-stack web applications using modern frameworks and languages (e.g. React, Angular, Node.js)
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and microservices
- Implement data access layers and integrate with databases
- Develop and consume internal web services for system integration
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices
- Create and maintain software development standards
- Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other team members
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends
Fulfill multiple project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of experience in full-stack software application development
- Strong proficiency in modern front-end technologies (e.g. React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- Expertise in back-end technologies (e.g. C/C++, Node.js, Java, Go, .NET, Python, Django)
- Understanding of web services, APIs, and RESTful architectures
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly and independently, and adapt to changing requirements
- Passionate about propulsion technology. AGILE is an advanced, fast moving scientific facility. Applicants who are not passionate about propulsion science will not enjoy the work ethic necessary to be successful.
- U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency required due to ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Experience with Linux tools and containerization (Docker)
- Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
- Proficiency in multiple languages (C/C++, C#, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, Rust)

Salary: $70,000 - $120,000
