Front-End Engineer II, AWS Supply Chain

AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.

It’s truly Day 1 for our team in AWS. This is your opportunity to be a founding engineer on a new team that’s building a suite of AWS Apps and Services to tackle a huge new problem space. You’ll be an integral part of building services that leverage cutting edge AWS technologies like SageMaker, Forecast, Athena, QuickSight, Glue, and more. As an early member of this team, you’ll wear many hats. You’ll help design the overall architecture, you’ll own large chunks of design and development work for various components, and you’ll establish the technology processes and practices that will lay the groundwork for the organization as it grows.

Key job responsibilities

As a software developer you can expect to:

1. Deal with ambiguity in solving a complex problem space that has not been tackled at this scale before.
2. Work with other engineering teams who are aligned towards the same goal with many opportunities for cross-team influence, architecture, and collaboration.
3. Build a customer facing product from the ground up and deliver it to market quickly.
4. Be a key contributor in setting the teams technical direction, best practices, and plan for the years ahead.
5. Front-end and full stack engineers will work closely with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to define the end product and customer experience and then implement it with best of breed web technologies and AWS services.
6. Back-end engineers will build the core backbone infrastructure and platform of services leveraging key AWS capabilities and cutting edge ML, AI, and analytics models.

Minimum Requirements

- Experience building scalable, distributed, front-end experiences.

- Experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis).

- Experience in agile software development methodology.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
