Title: Mechanical Engineer
Type of Role: Contract
$$$: 30-40/hr
Location: University Park, IL
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer for a client of ours, a leading manufacturer in the railcar component space. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to production, ensuring that all components meet industry standards and client specifications.
  • Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various projects, maintaining accuracy and completeness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure that materials and components meet design requirements, budget constraints, and project timelines.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams, ensuring that mechanical aspects are integrated effectively into overall project plans.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and testing of mechanical systems and components to validate design performance and identify potential improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews, offering insights and recommendations based on engineering principles and industry best practices.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful project completion, reporting progress to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and project engineering, preferably in the railcar or heavy machinery industry.
