What you'll do...
As part of Walmart's Content-to-Commerce team, you will be building highly scalable and reliable APIs, data-pipelines, services and applications which will drive the next generation of affiliates, open-API and social commerce experiences. You'll independently handle high impact, critical software/systems monitoring issues, troubleshoot business and production issues. As a member of this fast-moving and highly entrepreneurial team, you'll be able to say that you work for the world's largest retailer and contribute to innovation and development to best-in-class methodologies that impacted perception and drastically changed business as we know it.
About Team:
Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.
What you'll do:
- Design & develop highly scalable services and solve complex software systems problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology.
- Gain exposure to various emerging technologies used in Marketing and E-commerce platforms.
- Provide technical direction, architecture leadership and expertise to the team.
- Lead by example. Show your chops as an exceptional and experienced developer.
- Drive projects of high visibility across the organization.
- Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project, product and business requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirement); designing robust and scalable architectures; writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery.
What you'll bring:
- 10+ years of experience designing and building scalable and reliable front-end and back-end services and applications.
- Strong experience interfacing with Web Services platforms.
- Proficient in RESTful Services, RDBMS, NoSql.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, JSON.
- Strong expertise in ReactJS/Redux.
- Strong expertise in NodeJS, GraphQL.
- Strong expertise in development of scalable cloud native microservices.
- Strong expertise in designing and building APIs.
- Proficient with event driven architecture.
- Strong expertise with Cloud Technologies like Azure and GCP.
- Proficient in Apache Hadoop, Map-reduce, Apache Spark, and in messaging Systems as Kafka.
- In depth knowledge of No-SQL and RDBMS technologies.
- Designed, built, and maintained APIs, services of highly scalable platforms.
- Designed and built video streaming applications, with highly efficient streaming protocols and including real time video analytics.
- Extensive knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns and micro-service architecture. Familiarity with CI/CD and unit testing.
- Experience in production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting etc.).
- The keen eyes for detail and desire to learn, win, collaborate, and relish a challenge.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Data mining, Machine Learning, Image and Video Processing.
- Strong Expertise in Java, Scala, Object Oriented & Functional Programming, Design Patterns.
Minimum Qualifications:

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
