Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to join our team at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of all hotel facilities. This role requires a strong leader with excellent technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Engineering Manager will report directly to the Director of Engineering. The salary range for this position is $76,700 to $90,000. This is the pay range for this position that Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and outdoor areas.
- Manage and lead a team of engineers, providing direction, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as hotel policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Assist in the development and management of the engineering department budget. Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
- Work with external contractors and suppliers to secure necessary services and materials. Evaluate and manage vendor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Prepare regular reports for the Director of Engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or facilities management, preferably in a hospitality environment.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and building codes.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and navigate the hotel property for extended periods.
