Job Description
As a platform engineer, you will be responsible for improving software product delivery in the areas of provisioning, monitoring, securing, deploying, scaling, maintaining, and system hardening. A typical day in this role involves supporting the project and product teams, and collaborating with the software development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to derive best practices for continuous improvement in the areas of CI/CD/IaC. This role involves an individual to be hands-on to build, set up, monitor and maintain running systems remotely and at client sites.
- Establish idempotent CI/CD pipelines to automate configuring, provisioning, packaging, testing, and deployment of FORTNA software.
- Configure and deploy visualizations of builds, deployments, tests, telemetry, alerting, errors/logs, and health status.
- Draft and maintain detailed, up-to-date technical documentation and user guides for SDLC tool chain.
- Participate in the troubleshooting of performance and stability issues and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Apply proper architecture and best-practice guidelines to achieve “as a service” capabilities for the multi-cloud platforms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong experience in Linux/UNIX administration, configuration, networking, infrastructure, and security.
- General understanding of automated provisioning and configuration management using Ansible / Terraform.
- Strong experience with at least one major scripting language (Bash, Groovy, Python).
- Proficient with troubleshooting system issues related to hardware, custom software, and packaged middleware.
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed, up-to-date technical documentation.
- Strong communication in both verbal and written forms.
- 2+ year experience with Kubernetes (K8s, K3s) and Rancher toolset (Helm chart, Fleet), and/or docker swarm.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/SRE with elastic infrastructure or cloud environment.
- 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools like GitOps, Ansible, Jenkins, Github, Gitlab etc.
