IT Data Engineer III

Summary

The Data Engineer will be responsible for development of various parts of the data infrastructure in the cloud: data modeling, developing ETL/ELT jobs as well as other types of data transfers between source systems, Data Lake and the Data Warehouse. The resource will work closely with IT (teams implementing source systems, ETL team, BAs), as well as the business Analytics Leads and end users.

Key Responsibilities

1. Works with analysts, BAs and developers in other teams to understand data flows and uses.
2. Designs and creates 3NF or dimensional data models for the DW as required.
3. Designs and develops data transfers from source systems (on-prem, cloud, etc.) to the Data Lake and ETL jobs into the DW.
4. Ensures data quality and integrity in Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
5. Follows agile practices and philosophy as part of the team.

Experience

1. Well-rounded and extensive knowledge of Data Warehousing, dimensional data modeling and cloud technologies is required (4+ years). Must have gone through at least one full-cycle implementation of an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
2. 4+ years’ hands-on development experience in ETL tools (Informatica Cloud or similar tool).
3. Highly experienced in SQL and relational/dimensional databases (4+ years).
4. Experience with cloud environments and tools (AWS, S3, Lambda, Cloud DWs such as Snowflake).
5. Experience with reporting tools (Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI, etc.) is a plus.
6. Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.
7. Writing Python scripts for deployment, data conversion and analysis.
8. DBT and Airflow expertise would be a plus.
