JOB SUMMARY: Lead Quality Engineer works with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales to address quality issues and ensure that products and processes meet quality standards and customer expectations. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of quality processes, procedures, and systems, while driving continuous improvement initiatives. As a leader, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage quality projects, and implement strategies to enhance overall product and process quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers to ensure high performance and continuous development.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and manage team workload to meet quality goals and deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure consistent quality practices across all product lines.
  • Oversee the quality of the product throughout the entire product lifecycle to ensure all requirements and expectations are met, including quality control at all stages (incoming materials, in-process operations, and final product delivery).
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure understanding and adhere to quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct high level risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential quality issues.
  • Develop, review and approve quality plans and inspection and test plans to ensure product and process standards and requirements are met.
  • Oversee product, and document audits program to verify compliance with established QMS procedures and drive actions to address findings.
  • Determine the method to collect quality data and perform data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement, using statistical tools and lean six sigma methodologies to drive decisions and optimize quality processes.
  • Lead the investigation of root cause for critical and complex quality issues, drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and meet company goals. Ensuring all investigations are thorough and corrective actions are effective.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and communication of corrective actions to customers and senior management.
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality processes and standards, ensuring they align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, and enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and manage quality improvement projects, ensuring timely and effective implementation of solutions and driving continuous enhancement of quality processes.
  • Evaluate and manage supplier quality to ensure that purchased materials and components meet required specifications and standards.
QUALIFITCATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a quality engineer within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisor role.
  • CQE, CQA, Certified SSBB Preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and GD&T
  • Proven experience in Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), quality plan, ITP and root cause analysis.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Minitab, and database management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with keen attention to details.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to wear PPE as required.
