Software Development Manager, Profit Intelligence

As a Manager of Software Development, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in defining, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and operating large scale distributed systems targeted at financial intelligence and optimizing business operations. A successful candidate will have an established background in leading agile high-performance teams, a strong technical ability to guide and coach, excellent project management and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You will interface with our external customers to understand requirements and set the right priorities and direction. You will help develop a long-term development roadmap and will own all operational metrics for your team’s software.

We are part of the Seller Partner Services and develop sophisticated profit intelligence solutions for the Amazon Consumer businesses, supporting deep dive analysis, vendor negotiations, and business planning towards enhancement at the bottom line. Key job responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall systems development life cycle
• Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment
• Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering organization
• Work closely with your teams to architect and develop the best technical design and approach
• Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to leadership and peers
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
