JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the engineering staff and the broader production team by providing technical assistance that optimizes Delphon's manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for assisting production in troubleshooting downtime related issues in all assembly related processes & supporting process engineering in optimizing productivity of existing programs throughout the full production lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring proper setup, efficient operation, and achievement of production targets.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues during production, making real-time adjustments and performing minor repairs to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement assuring equipment reliability.
- Assist with machine setup and calibration for production runs, ensuring specifications are met.
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to identify and implement process improvements, driving efficiency gains, cost reductions, and improved equipment performance through firsthand modifications.
- Conduct visual and manual quality checks during production to identify and address defects, ensuring final product quality meets company standards.
- Monitor equipment and production output, making decisions to maintain smooth operations and product consistency.
- Load raw materials, handle finished products with accuracy, maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, process changes, troubleshooting activities, and production outcomes while generating reports as needed.
- Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, adhering to safety guidelines that ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certification in manufacturing or mechanical systems is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar role.
- Demonstrable firsthand experience operating, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to perform physical adjustments and repairs.
- Working knowledge troubleshooting equipment in real-time on the production floor.
- Well-organized, meticulous, and customer-focused (internal and external) as well as being a self-starter under minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and people skills; collaborating with cross functional stakeholders.
- Frequent standing, crouching, and bending during equipment operation and maintenance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
WORK ENVIROMENT/PHYISCAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing up to 8 hours per day.
- Occasional twisting, turning, or bending to move items up to 50 lbs.
- May involve exposure to hazardous materials and conditions, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Alert state of mind to avoid safety hazards, with ability to have reactions to adverse visual/sound signals.
- Ability to read/see up to a millimeter, able to manipulate objects by hand.
- Able to read, speak and understand English text, instructions, and diagrams.
