Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical)

We are hiring a Design Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background. This role will be 100% on-site in the clients Lexington, KY office. They are looking for candidates who have experience designing heavy equipment, want to continue to learn, and enjoy a variety of work on a day to day basis.
Job Responsibilities :

• Design or redesign component assemblies and parts of new and existing machines
• Service as Design Project Leader and Cross Functional Team Leader when assigned
• Provide status reports as needed
• Generate cost effective designs
• Establish project time estimates
• Write project appropriations
• Write test plans
• Plan and supervise test of new and redesigned products
• Perform a full range of theoretical calculations and select the most appropriate materials
• Be aware of and keep up to date on applicable crane codes and standards (SAE, ISO, PCSA, etc.)
• Be aware of machine field service problems and take corrective action
• Direct and check the work of others on specific projects or sub-projects (drawings, calculations, bill of materials, etc.)
• Provide technical guidance to others inside and outside the department
• Ensure organization and maintenance of machine calculations

Requirements :
Four (4) year college degree
BS in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical)
Minimum of four (4) year of proven design experience in the crane industry or seven (7) years in the heavy equipment industry
