FM is currently seeking a loss prevention consultant engineer with industry experience to conduct risk assessments and consult with clients on fire, explosion, and natural hazard risks to help clients neutralize potential disasters – saving property and businesses. You will advise on property protection and develop solutions supported by our extensive research base and unique scientific expertise.A consultant engineer at FM is expected to manage field, office, and project work for clients within a wide range of industries. Small to medium sized locations will be expected to be handled with minimal supervision. Larger locations and more challenging occupancies will be assigned based upon skill level. These products and services are expected to be delivered in a timely and efficient manner. The individual will also be expected to achieve risk improvement by ensuring client understanding, consulting to reach client agreements, and executing follow-ups until completion.The individual will be expected to work independently and should be willing to operate from a home office. An average of 25-35% overnight travel is expected.Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical, fire protection)Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience (loss prevention experience preferred)Familiarity with industrial loss preventionInterest in climate resiliency a plusAn eagerness to learn across a broad range of industries and types of hazards.Good analytical, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skillsIndependent and focused within a home office environment, with strong planning and time management skills with minimal supervision.Results driven and self-motivated are a mustSolid technical aptitude including diverse knowledge of engineering principlesStrong verbal and written English communications skillsProficient in MS Office productsPhysically able to lift 25 pounds, able to climb ladders, and experience heights.Authorization to work in the USValid driver’s licenseThe salary range for this position is $78,500 to $115,000. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
