Summary
Anaconda is seeking a talented Sr. Software Engineer (Client Facing) to join our rapidly-growing company. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your software-development and solutions-architecture skills to the Python open-source data-science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning ecosystems.
What You’ll Do:
- Be a key member of the Anaconda Professional Services team, solving problems for our customers using tools from the Python open-source ecosystem
- Apply modern artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to address customer problems
- Maintain and extend open-source tools employed by the team, particularly Panel, Lumen, and the various HoloViz.org visualization libraries.
- Meet with customers directly to understand their needs and their current software systems
- Translate business requirements to software architecture and technical implementation
- Write technical documentation, public examples, blog posts, etc. as needed
- Other duties as assigned
What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Fluency in Python
- Experience with the data-science stack, e.g. Pandas, Jupyter, and other Python tools for data analysis
- Experience with revision control systems (git/github, etc.)
- Superior written and verbal communication skills

What Will Make You Stand Out:
- Experience with CI, testing, and other automation tools
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and other Generative AI approaches
- Experience with Bokeh or HoloViz visualization tools
- Experience with advanced Python data libraries such as Dask and Numba
- Experience with extensions and tools for Jupyter or other notebook systems
- Experience with Machine-Learning Operations tools (MLOps)
- Experience with the Python packaging ecosystem (building pip or conda packages)
- Experience or training in UX/UI/graphic design
- Experience working in a client-facing environment
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience working in an open-source, AI, Python, or data science-oriented company
