Job Description: Systems Engineer – Vehicle Domains

Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team, specializing in vehicle systems including Powertrain, Body, Chassis, ADAS, Infotainment, and Telematics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in requirements management and system architecture, with a strong focus on quality assurance and customer collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirements Evaluation:

• Study existing specifications and assess the quality of requirements at all levels—system, sub-system, and component—for various vehicle domains.

1. Requirement Elicitation:

• Actively participate in the requirement elicitation process with customers to gather and clarify their needs.

1. Customer Coordination:

• Understand customer requirements and coordinate with offshore system teams to ensure timely execution of projects.

1. Requirements Translation:

• Translate high-level customer requirements into detailed system, functional, and non-functional requirements, as well as logical and physical architectures using design and change management tools.

1. Systems Engineering Expertise:

• Leverage experience in system engineering, software/hardware architecture design, and system test execution on Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (HILS).

1. Tools Proficiency:

• Utilize DOORS/DOORS DNG or similar requirements capture tools to add and modify objects, link requirements, and apply filtering techniques.

1. JIRA Experience:

• Work with JIRA for tracking and managing requirement execution processes effectively.

1. Requirements Development:

• Develop comprehensive requirements based on feature/business inputs, product specifications, reference documents, regulations, and functional objectives for various vehicle systems and components.

1. Requirement Categories:

• Create requirements for systems/subsystems/components across various categories, including functional, performance, interface, calibration, diagnostics, mechanical, and electrical.

1. Traceability Maintenance:

• Identify and maintain bidirectional traceability within requirements, as well as between requirements and the design artifacts that fulfill those requirements.

1. Point of Contact:

• Serve as the single point of contact for other vehicle electronic systems, facilitating communication and collaboration.

1. Mentorship:

• Mentor and train other Systems Engineers and Requirements Engineers in effective requirement writing and management practices.

1. Collaboration:

• Collaborate with customer engineering teams for requirement reviews, approvals, and ongoing project support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in systems engineering and requirements management, specifically in the automotive industry.
• Advanced knowledge of DOORS/DOORS DNG and experience with JIRA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with customers and team members.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with automotive regulations and industry standards.
• Experience in vehicle electronic systems and architecture design.
• Previous mentorship or training experience is a plus.
