Quality Engineer
Basic Scope/Purpose: (The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)
The quality engineer designs systems by which production quality can be checked in an ongoing process. In addition, he/she will work with the production team to implement any new testing criteria. Essential to the execution of these roles is the collection and analysis of data which is obtained from production or laboratory processes and effective collaboration within the company.

- Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
- Develop, apply and document quality requirements and standards for the manufacture and inspection of product.
- Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
- Establish supplier quality requirements and monitor and evaluate supplier performance.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal process owners to resolve quality problems and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
- Working knowledge of the Lean / Six Sigma problem solving methodology.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills (written and verbal).
- Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
- Demonstrated history of taking initiative, meeting commitments and assisting in the creation of new tools or solutions to achieve business results.
- High level of energy, personal accountability and integrity.
- Highly detail oriented; checks own work, keeps accurate records, organizes information effectively.
- Ability to take initiative, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.
- Support New Product Project teams to provide for smooth transition of New Products into the regular manufacturing process
- Support Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing with product improvements
- Highlights potential quality issues to management in a proactive manner.
- Responsible for documentation for first article inspections (PPAP)
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors at all times.

Education and/or Relative Experience: (The level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.)(Also show level of education needed for Career Progression)
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6-10 years of experience
- 10 plus years of experience
- Six sigma training (preferred)
- Audit experience / ISO9001
- APQP – advanced product quality planning
