Melwood has an immediate need for a DC 3rd Class Engineer in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance during his/her watch of all equipment in the plant.

The Engineer DC 3rd Class is responsible for operating and maintaining one or more systems which provide the facility with services such as heat, air-conditioning (cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, filtering, and circulating air), refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water, or electricity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of the system's operation, adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided;
- Record in logs various aspects of the system's operation;
- Keep the engines, machinery, and equipment of the system in good working order;
- May direct and coordinate activities of other workers (not stationary engineers) in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of a DC 3rd Class Engineer's License. A DC 1st Class Engineer's License is preferred.
- Must be able to gain clearance/access to a federal facility as governed by the customer.
- Experience using MAXIMO is preferred.
