Process Engineer
Norco, LA

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
- Developing and finalizing the basic data (flow rates, compositions, intermediate final product specifications, pressure, temperatures, validating the business case justifying the project, etc.) and completing the other front-end deliverables necessary for the project to proceed into the next project phase.
- Preparing mark ups of PFDs and P IDs.
- Developing the scope of work to be performed by the engineering firms for the various stage gates.
- Being responsible for managing the integrated technical team to deliver the final process design. Ensuring the process design team provides the necessary data to finalize documentation to safely maintain and operate the equipment.
- Leading and facilitating resolution of key investigations related to process design.
- Supporting the Project Manager to align key stakeholders.
- Following the project through commissioning and start-up phase and providing process/technical support through the life of the project.
- Developing and leading the project team through front end develop and being accountable for developing the scope of work, basis of design, and obtaining the necessary funding for the project.
- Having technical assurance responsibilities for the process design.
- Directing the process engineering team at the engineering office.
- Mentoring when available.
- Communicating interpersonal skills, conflicting management skills, negotiating skills will be further developed to manage the multiple stakeholders who have varying need and priority.
- Providing accurate and useful feedback and coaching to others in a supportive and sensitive manner.
- Additional duties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position:
- BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required.
- 5+ years of supporting a (chemical or refining) manufacturing site with a broad range of unit experience is preferred.
- Familiar with the project work process.
