Highlights of your roleThe Product Engineer is responsible to drive and facilitate changes in product to increase functionality, quality, and performance while reducing cost, non-value added materials and processes.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)- Drive and facilitate changes in product to increase functionality, quality, and performance while reducing cost, non-value added materials and processes
- Develop test plans that validate product design through functional and performance testing while providing direction to laboratory technicians
- Prepare written reports summarizing theoretical and experimental results
- Coordinate and communicate changes to multiple areas on a regular basis
- Develop 3-D models, 2-D layouts, prototypes, drawings and BOM's
- Facilitate test equipment maintenance and improvements
- Work on product improvement teams
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with two to five years experience with product design
- Proficient personal computer skills: Word, Excel, File Management, and SharePoint.
- Should have experience with AutoCAD and 3-D parametric modeling with Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Must have a high level of communication skills, verbal and written
- Highly motivated, organized, creative, and able to work effectively with team members in a participative environment
- Ability to determine design detail and tolerance budget requirements
- Proven project management skills and creating project plans consisting of responsibilities and development schedule
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly for wood components, aluminum extrusions, vinyl extrusions, plastic injection, and glass
- Advanced Degree or Professional certification a plus
