About the Job:

The Associate Mgr, QA Engineering will be responsible for API and integration testing, as well as spearheading API automation initiatives using the latest technology trends. We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated professional who is a fast learner, and who brings innovative ideas and enthusiasm to the role. This individual will be expected to perform tasks with a high degree of excellence and efficiency, ensuring timely and top-quality results.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to test the APIs for upstream/downstream systems, integrations with BI, and contribute to digital solutions for Taco Bell restaurants. The Senior Software QA Engineer II will report directly to the Quality Manager.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Assess business and technical requirements to establish the scope of features and integrations.
  • Work closely with the development team, project manager, product owner, and cross-functional teams to understand objectives.
  • Develop test plans, test cases and execute testing within established timelines.
  • Develop concepts for automation test scripts and discover creative solutions.
  • Ensure thorough testing of various aspects of APIs including functionality, performance, and compatibility.
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts. Monitor performance and troubleshoot any script failure.
  • Work with onsite-offshore team members and support team members on testing tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Effectively identify potential risks and proactively communicate these risks to the cross-functional team to ensure timely and coordinated mitigation efforts.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.

Is This You?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • 8+ years of experience working in an agile environment, experience in software testing with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience testing APIs (REST/GraphQL) using Postman/Swagger, Integration testing
  • 4+ years of test automation experience with API (REST) automation framework using Selenium, Appium using scripting languages such as Java/Python
  • Thorough understanding of cloud technologies is essential. Proficient in test validations using AWS services such as S3, SQS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, Lambda strongly preferred
  • Experience in SQL for data querying and validation
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills along with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with and help direct the testing efforts of a small group of QA engineers
