Power BI Report Developer - Business Process Transformation

Contract

Location: Downtown Manhattan, NY 10004

Estimated Length: 12 months, Average 40 hours per week based on SME availability for meetings and other requirements

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 5-7 years experience in using Microsoft’s Power BI analytics software.
2. Preferable 1-2 years working experience with Railroad/Transit industry
3. Preferable 3-4 years hands-on experience with enterprise data analysis.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

• Support DOS Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) sustainment efforts, scoping BI solution sessions with business lines, and prioritizing opportunities.
• Play a primary role in sustaining existing Power BI solutions under DOS EAM Department management.
• Extract, transform, and load data using SQL under the direction of the Report Development Lead.
• Create mock-up reports for proof-of-concept reviews.
• Support end-to-end data lifecycle management activities.
• Assist in developing system reporting solutions based on business needs.
• Create, validate, execute, and document test cases.
• Develop end-user training and reference materials, perform end-user training.
• Assist in implementation go-live and post-go-live activities.
• Support users in researching system problems and assisting in resolution.

Qualifications Experience & Education:

• Minimum 5 years HxGN EAM (or other EAM/enterprise data management software) experience.
• Minimum 5 years of IT-related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing and implementing Power BI solutions.
• Proficiency in Data Analysis (DAX), M, ETL (Power Query), SQL, and performance optimization.
• Strong ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously within tight deadlines.
• Microsoft Power BI certifications or Azure certifications are an asset.
• Experience working in an Agile project delivery model is an asset.
• Understanding of complex relational database organization, design, and functionality.
• Ability to communicate clearly in conversation and presentations to technical and non-technical staff.
• Ability to prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
