About The Team
Join a hardworking, multifaceted and passionate team delivering a new generation of on-demand enterprise solutions for the Payroll product. You work closely with your product manager and team members on US specific features, collaborating with your team following agile and test-driven development practices. A key strength you possess is the awareness of how significant your work is to our customers and to the lives of all the individuals who are paid through Workday!
About The Role
As a Software Application Engineer at Workday, you will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle in a metadata-driven development scrum team. During the analysis phase, you will collaborate with Product Managers and QA to review and refine requirements for the product. During the design, you will take functional input and build a technical design that best implements these requirements. This will include crafting a model of business objects and their relationships, which represents the functional domain as specified in the functional analysis. You will work primarily with Workday’s proprietary development stack while having some exposure to other full-stack development teams. During the implementation, you will build all technical artifacts required to realize the system functionality. Partnering with QA and Automation peers, you will be responsible for the quality of the delivered product during the testing phase, including the creation of test cases for all business processes, execution of test scripts, and resolution of any problems identified by the test scripts. You will also fix customer-reported issues and mentor and learn from other team members through pair programming, code reviews, knowledge sharing, hackathons, etc.

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
