Project/Unit Description
The Sensors & Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) of GTRI is seeking engineers and scientists interested in a research career focused on the analysis of all aspects of phased array radar signal processing. As a researcher in the Air & Missile Defense Division (AMDD), candidates will support the assessment and characterization of phased array radar measurements in a contested environment.
Job Purpose
The Algorithm & Analysis Engineer is responsible for the development and support of state-of-the-art algorithms involving data fusion, sensor fusion, machine learning, and genetic programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data cleaning and fundamental data analysis, generating new tools with significant reusability.
- Design and execute algorithm tests with limited oversight.
- Serve in a leading role in algorithm design discussions.
- Lead sections of technical report execution.
- Mentor student researchers and facilitate their technical development.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree program relevant to this position will be considered, with a graduation date no later than December 2024.
- Experience developing models and simulations in Matlab, C++, or similar high-level software language.
- Understanding of basic signal processing concepts, probability and statistics, and linear algebra.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Understanding of radar environmental phenomenology and phased array radar hardware.

25% - 50% travel
U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
