Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer - Shared Authentication in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer - Shared Authentication will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The Software Engineer - Shared Authentication takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles. Responsibilities include:

  1. Designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products;
  2. Full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code;
  3. Creating optimal design adhering to architectural best practices;
  4. Considering scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs;
  5. Making sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront;
  6. Taking feedback from code review and applying changes to meet standards;
  7. Conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures;
  8. Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices;
  9. Exhibiting relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards;
  10. Embracing emerging technology opportunities and contributing to the best practices in support of the bank's technology transformation;
  11. Contributing to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement;
  12. Reviewing tasks critically and ensuring they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery;
  13. Anticipating and communicating blockers and delays before they require escalation.

Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple positions.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science plus 5 years of related experience as an Analyst or closely related occupation.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 5 years of experience in each of the following: requirement analysis and design; developing APIs using Spring Boot; deploying pipelines and applications using Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes; Microservices; agile methodology; Java; JavaScript; Kafka; Spark; JIRA; and SDLC. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
