The Department of Civil and Geomatics Engineering offers programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering and Geomatics Engineering and the Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Civil and Geomatics Engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as:

1. GME 15: Engineering Surveying (3 units, 3 WTU)
2. GME 15L: Engineering Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTU)
3. GME 16: Municipal Surveying (3 units, 3 WTU)
4. GME 16L: Municipal Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTU)
5. GME 40/40L: Route Construction and Surveying
6. GME 66L: Computer-aided Drafting (1 unit, 2 WTU)
7. GME 123: Stereo Photogrammetry (3 units, 4 WTU)

Instructor Responsibility : Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies. Instructors are responsible for the preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading of lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester.

Conditional Appointment

Please be advised that an appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and California Faculty Association.

Appointees will be required to demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.

Compensation : Commensurate by qualifications and experience within salary range placement. The salary range for Temporary Faculty with a Master's degree is $5,507.00 - $6,677.00 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs).

Anticipated Semester

The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary.

1. Fall 2024: August 19, 2024 – December 23, 2024;
2. Spring 2025: January 15, 2025 – May 23, 2025

Qualifications for GME 15, GME 15L, GME 16, GME 16L, GME 66L, GME 102, GME 123, and GME 126:

Required:

• MS in Civil Engineering or MS in Geomatics Engineering or MS in a related area.
• California Land Surveyor in Training License (LSIT).

Preferred:

• Knowledge of relevant drafting techniques, standards, tools, software, equipment and practices in the Land Surveying Profession.
• Teaching experience at the university level.
