Position Summary Information

Primary Purpose Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean, Information Technology, analyzes and anticipates user needs; initiates process and system improvements; utilizes SQL, Oracle, and other database administration skills to provide support, data integrity, system architecture, programming, and database design.
Essential Functions
  • Act as liaison between vendor supporting EHR system and other systems; maintain databases and ensure data security.
  • Design the digital infrastructure for database systems.
  • Utilize Oracle, SQL, and other database administration skills for support and consultancy.
  • Analyze existing applications for needed modifications; perform pre-implementation tasks.
  • Create and submit periodic and special reports.
  • Organize and review documentation for applications and systems.
  • Monitor and inform users of system upgrades.
  • Research new technology and tools applicable to the position.
  • Maintain documentation of data requests and reports.
  • Collaborate with system and network administrators for optimal database performance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of:
  • Computer programming languages (C#, HTML, Java, PHP, Python, R, SQL).
  • Operating system software (Linux, macOS, Microsoft Windows, UNIX).
  • Database management frameworks and systems (IBM Db2, Oracle Database, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server).
Ability to:
  • Proficiency in SQL for database management.
  • Safeguard sensitive information and ensure data privacy.
  • Optimize database performance.
  • Communicate effectively with developers and stakeholders.
Experience:
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with programming languages.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Database management frameworks.
  • Experience in the Epic/Wisdom system.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Epic Operational Database Administrator certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications Ability to:
  • Manage time and organize projects to meet deadlines.
  • Understand BI tools and analytics.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in a health or educational environment.
Education:
  • Master's degree in information technology or database administration.
Other:
  • Experience with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Physical Requirements
  • Work primarily in an office and classroom environment.
  • Position requires sitting, standing, and walking most working hours.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Hiring Range $41.71 - $47.54 per hour.
