Position Title: Systems Engineer (Architect) (Level II)
General Position Description:
Mission Focused Systems Inc. (MFS) is looking for a self-motivated MID Engineer to support System Engineering Architecture in support of Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) Project Overmatch Office for the development of networks, infrastructure, data architecture, tools and analytics that will comprise the Naval Operational Architecture (NOA). Engineering support services include architecture definitions and designs, configuration definition and integration with other shore and afloat systems and coalition interfaces/systems.
Job Description:
In this capacity, the successful candidate is:
- At least 3 years of professional Systems Engineering experience.
- A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web, and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. The systems engineer is responsible for integrating various network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices.
- Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware, and web application, including: specification, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
- Systems engineering is like putting together a puzzle, matching varied pieces together to make one cohesive whole. Systems engineers are concerned with the "big picture" of a project in addition to technical aspects and must consider details like cost, schedules, and social issues that may be associated with a project.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s level degree in an Engineering discipline
- 3 years of professional experience in Systems Engineering
Desired skills:
- Experience identifying risks associated with the development and implementation of Architectures, both external and internal, for efforts in the RDT&E phase of the acquisition life cycle.
- Experience providing functional knowledge and technical support of developing enterprise architecture to support MBSE to the NOA Chief Engineer.
- Experience monitoring and tracking the as-is Architectures, which includes fielded and programmed architectures focused on programs, projects, and their interfaces, both external and internal.
- Experience monitoring, maintaining, enhancing, and managing all system operations and system administration, integration, and data transfer for modeling and simulation tools, architecture tools, and data repositories within the Naval Integrated Modeling Environment (IME).
- Experience developing target architectures for platforms, enclaves, and systems based on Defense in Depth Information Assurance Functional Architecture (DFIA).
- Experience developing roadmaps for S&T, and provide forecasted systems and capabilities for integration into forward-looking views of the Navy’s Enterprise Architecture (EA).
- Experience providing input in the review and analysis of Acquisition Engineering documentation for programs in the RDT&E lifecycle.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance
- And/or be eligible for a Top-Secret Clearance with a successful background investigation completed.
