HF Sinclair in Artesia, NM is seeking an Engineering Intern who, under close and frequent supervision, assists Engineers by performing routine assignments for the Engineering Departments.
Job Duties- Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group
May be required to do some or all of the following:
- Performs a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining or assisting with the repair of electrical equipment utilized on a pipeline system such as motors, switchgear, variable frequency drives, and transformers
- Assist with upgrades and distributes drawings prior to commencing field work on maintenance or capital projects and updates electrical drawings to reflect field changes
- Researches available power optimization programs and power correction equipment and software to reduce power operating costs
- Researches and provides cost estimates for electrical reliability improvement projects which will increase asset utilization and reduce power operating costs
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion

Education LevelSome completed courses needed for a Bachelors Degree in Engineering are required.
PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
Completion of Junior level engineering courses is preferred.
Required SkillsBasic knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts and ability to apply this knowledge analytically. Basic ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes is essential. Basic knowledge of Microsoft products
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with engineering software is preferred.
