Job Responsibilities

The Senior Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Engineer will provide routine Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration and coordination for assigned projects, supporting the Ryan Companies project team. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing models and documents, BIM technical support, and assembling 3D content.
2. Assisting with proposal preparation, estimating, scheduling, logistics, procurement, and conflict resolution.
3. Creating and maintaining clear and effective project documentation, such as meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and constraint logs.
4. Facilitating meetings for coordination of construction and design disciplines, inclusive of subcontractors and vendors, in relation to the construction model.
5. Providing BIM technical support to internal project teams.
6. Providing training to project teams on utilization of BIM tools.
7. Supporting operations with the RFI or change order process for BIM related items.
8. Maintaining working relationships with subcontractors and project teams.
9. Assuming responsibility for learning the VDC processes and standards; applying them to assigned projects.
10. Creating 4D schedules to coordinate the construction model with the project schedule.
11. Updating 4D schedules to track progress, convey short-term activities, and manage project timelines.

Job Requirements

1. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering/Management, Architecture, or Engineering, or a 2-year degree with relevant experience.
2. The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in construction or design, including 2 years in a VDC or BIM-related role.
3. Essential skills include knowledge of BIM technologies and tools, the ability to build and maintain relationships, and the capability to quickly learn additional BIM and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
