Overview:

Founded in 1967, Analogic Corporation has become the leading provider of advanced security screening technology for the aviation industry. Our high-speed Computed Tomography (CT) Explosive Detection Systems meet the highest standards for automated threat detection and play a key role in keeping the flying public safe. We have an engineering culture of excellence, with over 200 patents assigned in the last years alone.

Our team is now developing the next generation of security screening solutions for airports worldwide – solutions that will incorporate the latest advances in machine learning, 3D imaging and open network architectures, and have the potential to dramatically improve aviation security and passenger travel experience.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer to be part of a team developing industry leading technology for Airport Security. The ideal candidate has a background in modern software and network architectures with embedded systems in a Linux environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic work environment are required.

DUTIES:

  • Work with senior engineers to design and implement backend interfaces between system control and open network architectures.
  • Work with senior engineers to define and document architecture, functional, and design requirements.
  • Complete design details and develop methods to satisfy design requirements.
  • Prepare engineering test specifications and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members assigned to projects.
  • Communicate complex concepts in written and verbal form. Create technical reports, publications, specifications, product designs test plans, and release notes. Plan and conduct research, design and development for all assignments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BSCS or related degree, plus 2-7 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Exposure to network architecture and efficient REST API development.
  • Familiar with Relational Databases and managing schema migrations.
  • Experience in multi-threaded programming and distributed systems.
  • Experience with C++, QT, and Object-Oriented programming.
  • Experience working in Linux environment.
  • Understanding of analytical equipment and large data sets.
  • Functional understanding of FIPS-140, TLS and/or other cyber security standard preferred.
  • Prior experience with imaging technology such as CT preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain SSI level clearance is required.

LOCATION:

  • The position is based at Analogic’s headquarters in Peabody, MA.
  • Availability to travel ~5%
