As a key member of the Team, you will support the selection and implementation of technical solutions on the P&C data platform by utilising the latest advancements in IT-architecture and contribute to the development of the in-house R-Shiny applications which are the key tools in P&C Analytics.

The Analytics and Business Insights team is responsible for the data, processes, tools and analytics that are key in Reinsurance. The Team plays a critical role in the renewal monitoring, planning, forecasting and performance monitoring etc. The wide range of tasks to deliver insightful analytics creates very demanding challenges from the computational and technological side.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Develop the applications' architecture design and solve technical challenges to create functional and efficient solutions for business analytics.
  • Optimize the applications in terms of speed, costs, and convenience by using modern technologies and numerical and mathematical methods.
  • Ensure efficient usage on a cloud infrastructure (Azure).
  • Perform code review and code quality assurance.
  • Ensure applications of consistent coding standards and own the business logic of the code.
  • Collaborate with software engineers in the Tech&Data organization to ensure compliance with SCOR's IT landscape.
  • Manage the testing work together with other business analysts and IT professionals.
  • Develop solutions for data-driven business insights and advanced analytics (including machine learning) and support automation initiatives in Reinsurance.

Required experience & competencies

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in software development and data management.
  • Excellent technical capabilities in statistical programming and some understanding of actuarial concepts.
  • Good understanding of data models and designs, developing and executing SQL, Python and R scripts on complex data models.
  • Sound working knowledge with R or Python and data visualization packages.
  • Experience with Databricks platforms and/or Foundry is a plus.
  • Experience in applying data science technologies in business is an asset.

Required Education

  • Minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related fields.
  • Actuarial background is an advantage.
