We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our client, a leading Fortune 500 grocery company. In this role, you will create and execute tests to ensure the software systems run smoothly before launch. You will document any issues, collaborate with developers to resolve them, and re-test to confirm fixes. Attention to detail and the ability to guide the team in using testing tools and improving processes are essential.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate for this role has 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
- 4-6 years experience with testing payments (credit cards, pin pads, POS, OTC, eWic and Wic/EBT) is required
- Experience working with and testing NCR products , such as:
- Point of Sale (POS) for retail and food service
- POS Displays
- POS Printers
- POS Touch Screens
- POS Terminals
- NCR Silver, complete point-of-sale that runs on iPad, iPhone or iPod touch device
- POS Self Checkout (NCR SelfServ Checkout, formerly NCR FastLane)
- POS Scanners
Responsibilities:
- The quality assurance engineer will create tests to identify any problems within the software before the product is launched.
- You will identify and analyze any bugs found during testing and document them.
- You will need to pay very close attention to detail and coach their team on managing testing tools, reporting results, and motivating process improvement.
- A normal work day for a quality assurance engineer includes developing new tests to run, running the tests, and documenting the results; if any defects are noted the quality assurance engineers will need to collaborate with the software developers to find a fix and patch the program.
- Once the defect has been patched, they will need to run the test again to make sure there are no new bugs and to make sure the defect found has been corrected.
