Title: CNC Machinist (Weekday Nights)
Location: Seattle, WA
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $24/hr
Must have: 1 year of related CNC lathe or mill experience
Misc: Mon-Thurs from 5pm to 5:30am (will work 12hrs M-W and then work 4 hours on Thurs)
This position is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control lathes, mills and machining centers to cut, shape or form metal work pieces to specification by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
  • Performs basic operation of equipment to produce to rate and meet quality standards.
  • Loads material into machine and unloads parts after operation.
  • Monitors and removes metal chips from tools and equipment and disposes of them in the proper container.
  • Monitors machine condition and reports and unusual noises or occurrences to supervisor or lead.
  • Monitors cutting conditions and alerts lead or supervisor if tools are not cutting properly.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and orderly workstation and performs basic machine upkeep, such as wiping down outside surface of machine, lubrication, etc.

Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year related CNC lathe or mill experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must have knowledge of shop practices and procedures, ability to read blueprints, and ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.
