Summary:
Oversees and protects the physical assets of The MetroHealth System (MHS), currently over 5M square feet of buildings and garages, with an estimated value of over $2 Billion, by ensuring building and systems’ safety, effective functionality and optimal efficiency through oversight of assigned departments and areas of responsibility. Provides direction, coordination, and leadership for all facilities management services to support the mission and strategic objectives of The MetroHealth System. Responsible for planning, policy development and priority setting for Facilities Management operations within MHS. Ensures operations are consistent with Federal, State and Local Codes as well as the requirements of accreditation agencies. Combines engineering and administrative skills in the management of facilities, human resources, and operational and capital budgets. Serves as a role model, resource person and advocate for facilities administration and customer service, and liaison with all areas of the MHS, both medical and non-medical and other support services departments, inspectors, and regulatory agencies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Master’s degree in engineering or an MBA, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and working experience in lieu of the Master’s Degree.
- In lieu of degrees identified above, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM).
- Fifteen years’ experience to include supervision, facilities management, construction management, contract administration, purchasing, cost estimating, cost accounting, and labor relations.
- Experienced with MS Word, Excel, computerized maintenance management and project management software.
- Working knowledge of boiler plant, mechanical and electrical systems found in healthcare/research environment.
- Demonstrated success complying with Joint Commission Standards and Surveys.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local Codes and Standards.
- Proven leadership, engineering competence, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional self-development.
- Facilities management experience on a multi-building campus.
Preferred:
- Professional licensure
- Master’s degree in engineering and an MBA
Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job-related documents. Ability to use a computer.
