If so, join the FindLaw technology group as a Lead Software Engineer, where you will contribute to the design and delivery of critical public-facing and internal applications. As a Lead Software Engineer at FindLaw, your responsibilities are to:

  1. Collaborate with others efficiently and effectively to accomplish tasks on the desired timeline.
  2. Learn and apply new business and technical concepts quickly.
  3. Provide technical leadership to the team, ensuring design and architecture are aligned with the FindLaw strategy, standards, and best practices.
  4. Participate in all aspects of the agile process from story creation through release.
  5. Design, develop, test, and deliver application features that delight customers.
  6. Contribute non-functional requirements to projects to achieve long term application health and stability.
  7. Understand and apply current secure development practices.
  8. Maintain an understanding of industry trends and use this knowledge to bring new innovative ideas to the group.
  9. Support Production applications as needed to prevent service interruptions and maintain a high level of quality for our customers.
  10. Communicate effectively in written and verbal form with colleagues and vendor representatives.
  11. Mentor junior engineers to sustain a high level of development standards.
  12. Effectively manage your priorities and time.
  13. Present technical concepts and proposals with business and technical audiences in a way that resonates with them.
  14. Tackle the largest technical challenges facing the team.

About You

Your qualifications for a Lead Software Engineer are:

  1. A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 7 years in a technical development role.
  3. 5+ years' experience developing enterprise Java applications using Spring, with unit tests.
  4. Experience designing, delivering, and maintaining ReSTful services.
  5. Experience with cloud services from AWS or Azure.
  6. Experience managing efficient database connections and transactions in Java.
  7. Experience writing and executing complex SQL.
  8. Previously delivered major application features used in Production.
  9. Strong passion for technology and a willingness to learn and apply new skills.
  10. Proven design skills with significant knowledge of core libraries and common design patterns.
  11. Ability to follow standards that produce clean code that is easy to understand.
  12. Understanding of security testing practices and methodologies.
  13. Customer-first approach to software development.
  14. Able to work independently with minimal direction to meet commitments.
  15. Strong focus on system performance, scalability with the ability to troubleshoot in large and complex software systems.
  16. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  17. Inclination towards automation, unit tests, integration tests, and adopting agile practices.
  18. Hands-on experience with security vulnerability scanning tools (Snyk, Qualys).
